Welfare
Hello Everyone!
I’m Serge, you’re Welfare Officer!
Can I first offer my congratulations to you on passing your exams and welcome you to the fine institution of St. Cuthbert’s Society. A little about me: I’m a 2nd year Anthropology Student from Devon, I enjoy long walks in the snow and am married.
So, University eh? It’s a big step with many of you being away from home for the first time as fully fledged adult, the road ahead full of new friends, unforgettable parties and somewhere along the line a degree which will stand you in good stead for the rest of your life.
However times aren’t always on the up and many of you will face trials throughout University. In the next few pages hopefully we can reassure you that this next big step you won’t be taking alone. Along with all your new friends, the JCR Welfare team will be working closely with the Senior Tutors and Vice Principal to offer advice, peer support and signposting. I wish you all a wonderful summer and look forward to seeing you all in freshers week!
Serge
